A native Midwesterner, Dr. Troup was born and raised in Illinois. She was also educated in and has worked across the Midwest, spending time in Iowa, Indiana, Ohio and Northwestern Pennsylvania prior to relocating to Naples in 2012.
Dr. Troup earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in French from Hanover College (Hanover, Indiana) with a minor in Chemistry. She worked full time at Nalco Chemical Company (Naperville, Illinois) in the Corporate Research department while simultaneously completing her second Bachelors degree, a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Illinois Benedictine College (Lisle, Illinois). She received her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at Des Moines University, College of Osteopathic Medicine (Des Moines, Iowa) and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital (Park Ridge, Illinois).
Dr. Troup was employed as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine at LECOM in Erie, Pennsylvania, from 2001-2008. She was appointed the Associate Director of Clinical Studies for the Independent Study Pathway in 2002 and named the LECOM ISP Faculty Member of the Year in 2007.
Now enjoying the Naples sunshine year-round, Dr. Troup attends Moorings Presbyterian Church, is a member of the YMCA, the Greater Naples Alumnae Panhellenic, and the Genealogical Society of Collier County. She volunteers at the Neighborhood Health Clinic providing outpatient Internal Medicine to the underserved, Habitat For Humanity, and Empty Bowls for the Harry Chapin Food Bank. She is also a member of Collier County Medical Society. She enjoys tennis, pickleball, and yoga. She's also passionate about traveling and language, and enjoys practicing her French.
Dr. Troup is Board Certified by The American Board of Internal Medicine through 2023 and licensed by The Florida Board of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her Maintenance of Certification (recertification exam) in the Fall of 2013.
